IrDA PROTO Board is an accessory tool for protoype devices that use Infra red communication.

The IrDA PROTO Board features the MCP2155 IrDA driver used to implement IrDA standard wireless connectivity for your prototype device. This driver also handles IrDA standard protocol stack + bit encoding/decoding. It is used in Data Communication Equipment applications and is placed between the UART module and an infrared optical transceiver. The TFDU4101 diode is an infrared transceiver compliant with the latest IrDA physical layer standard for fast infrared data communication.
Examples provided with this board will show you how to connect the IrDA transceiver to MCUs easily. Each example contains a detailed description of the relevant program including comments. All these examples can be downloaded from this page as well.
